This guide provides information about the operational features, controls, and status indicators of the Convo AI Device Kit R1. Use this as a reference while using the device.

## Power management [#power-management]

| Task                | How to do it                                                                   |
| ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Power on            | Press and hold the **Middle button** for 3 seconds or longer                   |
| Power off           | Press and hold the **Middle button** for 3 seconds or longer (when powered on) |
| Charge battery      | Use any **USB Type-C port** on the device                                      |
| Use without battery | Connect a Type-C cable directly to the device                                  |

## Volume control [#volume-control]

| Task            | How to do it                      |
| --------------- | --------------------------------- |
| Increase volume | Single click the **Left button**  |
| Decrease volume | Single click the **Right button** |

## Network configuration [#network-configuration]

| Task                             | How to do it                                                                                                                                                               |
| -------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Enter network configuration mode | When powered on, press and hold the **Left button** for 3+ seconds. The device enters waiting state and is ready to pair via Bluetooth.                                    |
| Use hotspot-only setup           | Pre-configure a hotspot on your smartphone with name `AGORA_AI_KIT` and password `1234567890`. The device automatically detects and connects during network configuration. |

## Voice interaction [#voice-interaction]

| Task               | How to do it                                                                                       |
| ------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Wake up the device | Short press the **Middle button**.                                                                 |
| Resume after idle  | The device disconnects after 3 minutes of inactivity. Short press the **Middle button** to resume. |

## Role management [#role-management]

Switch AI agent roles through the Agora Convo AI app or by pressing the **Reset Button** on the right side of the device. After switching, wake up the device to complete the process.

## Device status [#device-status]

The LED indicator displays your device's current state:

| Alternating red and green blinking | Waiting for network configuration                             |
| Red blinking                       | Waiting for network connection                                |
